Goodbye Jackson Ranch....

It's the new year...out with the old..in with the new. The bulldozers arrived on New Years Eve and began their work. On New Year's day, smoke filled the air all day as the old ranch, the trees and the fields were burned.
As you enter Fernley from the west end of town, you will no longer be greeted by the Jackson Ranch. Goodbye.

Fall and the full moon

It is deep into fall...almost winter. Nights are down into the 20's. The full moon rises over the mountains like a giant pumpkin. In the morning, as the sun just starts to rise, the moon is setting over the west

I am a sunset nut...this is looking west on a hill above I-80 and the railroad. 

Most people have no idea of the beauty surrounding Fernley. This is the fall colors looking towards Wadsworth with the Truckee River in front. 

Another beautiful ranch will be new homes.  

This is the newest office/store building in town. Next to it will be Fernley's first bowling alley 

This is the beautiful Jackson Ranch, it has been in the same family for over 100 years...until this summer. The land is sold and soon there will be several hundred homes here. 

This is the back hills of Fernley...My favorite place to run. Most people don't see Fernley the way I do.
